Two men chased after the racoon while one carrying a giant grey-coloured bin in his hands. It took the stadium staff members a couple of attempts before they finally got hold of the animal. A clip of this chucklesome sequence was shared by a user on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, who quoted the commentators by saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, we got him [the racoon]”.

The post’s caption refers to the fabulous commentary during this hilarious chase sequence. In the clip, one of the commentators can be heard saying, “Very nearly got away, go on racoon, very nearly got away, you can get out…don’t hurt him…They got him, we got the racoon”. In the video, the mammal showcased impressive footwork to evade the stadium staff’s first attempted bin throw. The nimble moves from the racoon attracted cheers from the crowd just before getting covered up by the bin on the second throw. The video has now resulted in several reactions from fans on X.

One fan talked about how he would prefer the racoon in a one-on-one situation with a goalkeeper rather than Liverpool forwards. “Some speed on him, I’d fancy him 1 on 1 instead of Liverpool attackers”, he wrote.

Another fan was impressed with the commentary as he said, “Top-tier commenting. Unfortunate that this is the highlight of the match so far for union fans”.

“Best feet on the field…”, jokingly commented one fan.

While another was worried about the racoon being hurt during the incident. “Did they monitor the racoon afterwards for a concussion…after that garbage can to the head”, he wrote.

After a five-minute halt, the New York City versus Philadelphia was once again underway at Subaru Park. New York were 1-0 up when the racoon invaded the pitch. It was Alonso Martinez who had given his side the lead in the opening minutes of the game. They added a second in the first half added time off a finish from Hannes Wolf. Philadelphia were able to score a goal in the second half but it just was not enough to seal a victory.
